For those of you who missed out on the incredible (not really) experience of watching my livestream as I colored my lantern lady, this shark was the result of a combination of Shark Week and a friend.
His exact words were: "if you added a shark in the background, this would be even better"
Lo and behold, my love of sharks and the awesomeness of Shark Week has invaded my art and Mike's shark, Chester, was born. Please keep in mind this was the work of complete doodling with absolutely no reference. Not that it would improve even if I had one. I think I work more on Chester now than my actual piece
Mike was slightly bummed on another night, so Chester wanted to cheer him up with a present (his current chew toy!). But Chester's present is for everyone because he wants everyone to be happy (right before he eats them! lolz).
Mike, you can't say I don't do anything for you.

Anyway-- some sections of the sea, it's clear as air in some places, and only greenish -blue in the distance. It wouldn't change the coloration of the piece at all if you wanted to put in a BG of a sunken ship or such. I think that would look really damned cool and bring it all together!

The coloring is coming along so splendidly! I love the color palette so far!
And epic. I totally do doodles on some of my stuff that never gets published. I love how you actually posted it. Does Chester have a hand for a chew toy?

Thank you! It took me forever to decide and I'm still not sure I like it. The Red, yes, everything else....well eh. 
And you should aaaallways put up your doodles. You've seen my gallery- half the stuff is WIP and unfinished or random haha. I couldn't NOT post it... I am a little proud of Chester although in retrospect I should have used SOME reference (not like I don't have internet lol). And why yes, Chester DOES have a hand for a chew toy XD

LOL I KNOW, Right?! I want at least a day dedicated to each shark in the woooorld! Obviously big ones would need more than one XD
I don't expect people to like sharks, but the way they are treated is terrible! I really wish people didn't have such a drive to kill or make money.

OMG THAT WOULD BE SO AWESOME! Or a week to each shark!
I know, I hate when on Discovery Channel or Animal Planet, they're trying to protect the sharks, but many are too late when they show the dead ones for shark fin soup and such.... I understand food products, but if they kill a shark, they should use all of the poor thing.
