Description
It's Evan my Shonen ai OC lounging around his house. I wanted to tinker with tone and background techniques. Someday I'd like to get this manga off the ground... preferably before Shonen ai and Yaoi lose their popularity... You think that'll ever happen?Anyway did this on and off for a month... sadly I don't have an hour count, except I did spend at least two hours on it today. Photoshop, Wacom tablet, various references and computones. No special brushes this time around.

Hehe, he's adorable! ^w^
My eye is drawn to the roses more than Evan, though. Also, his nose looks like it's on a rather extreme angle compared to the rest of his face. I find that this happens a lot in manga. I think I have a suggestion to fix it, but I just got back from 8 hours of work and 4 hours of Canada Day partying, so I probably wouldn't be able to word it in a manner that makes much sense right now
I love that room, by the way. It reminds me of one of my old houses XD

I think you did a good job here with patterns. You made them fit well into the piece without it being overdone. Also, excellent shading on the pants and shirt. You did a great job of simulating wrinkles with shading, which is something I was never good at. I think you should try doing another piece like this, only without doing the black outline throughout. Try using darker shades of the color you are coloring with as the outline instead. I like the black outline, but I think it would be interesting to try it another way too

It's funny that you mention it, I was thinking about how the piece might work better if I colored the lines rather than using black. I tried it once before and ran into problems but I think I should give it another shot. I wasn't happy about the shirt. I redid it like seven times. Thanks for commenting on this. <3

No problem. I should have commented on this earlier, but I'm just an idiot who lets myself fall behind on stuff easily...
