Soni singing via reference of this photo of Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance: [link]Since I saw the Alex Ross exhibit at the Warhol I have a new appreciation for using reference in different ways. Here I wanted to mimic the photo enough that the reference would be obvious to MCR fans familiar with the photo. Normally I would try to make the entire piece my own but this was partially an experiment.

MCR's albums tell stories, but for me they are the soundtrack to this story. I should have thought to use the reference sooner, if only for practice.

Thanks! I was hoping you'd appreciate the reference. I redrew this like three times after I scanned my original pencils in so I put a lot of time into trying to get the pose right.
I wish I had paid attention to Gerard sooner. I never realized how cute he is X3.
