The Science Academy of Thouvu Ja Vonx was designed by for page 5 of SoD: Shockwave/Soundwave .
And guess what, Skids was among the crowd, when Perceptor became the new Headmaster of the Academy.
The Stormtroopers are G1/G2 toys (they appeared in the transitional period between the two lines); the official characters are a a squad of souped-up sports cars, but it seems that on Cybertron there were some fliers among them as well.
The Helix Gardens of Praxus were created by Simon Furman for The War Within (vol. 1).
They are also featured in page 2 of SoD: Sentinel Prime , during a sequence that features a Groove repaint.
And yes, that mech accompanying Skids is Protectobot Groove .
As seen in page 5 of SoD: Ratbat , Skids and Groove used to work alongside in an environment preservation agency dubbed "Nature Watchers".
The Battlechargers are featured in SoD: Ratbat and many other SoD chapters!
The Battlecharger shown here is Basket Case .
The Worlds Crossroad Palace was designed for this story, but the place was first shown (from the inside) in page 6 of SoD: Omega Supreme .
The main character is Skids! He doesn't have a Charlene to protect, here, but now you know why this peace-loving anthropologist joined the Autobots. You also know he can be cool even by staying true to his original profile.

Oh wow... I think we discussed the theme of "human" stupidity and bloodlust in the Decepticon behavior once, glad to see it crystalized into this tale. Really touching, and the art is awesome!

Wonderful story and team effort. The drawings done by Alexandra Shiyan, have a great interesting G1 style aesthetics, which suits well with the story and soft but nicely done contrasted colours by Haleyon.
Three things that really interest me when reading and looking at this short story.
One - Is how would Transformers in general incorporate tears in their own life? This story makes me think of the G1 movie. Before the particular legendary hero passes away with his last moments to live while his friends/comrades grieve for him. It is probably the most emotionally scene in Transformers history for me to know that Transformers or specifically Autobots can shed tears and cry in their own respective ways. This is a meaningful story that can make me think of the possibilities on how they cope emotionally through their wars.
Two - The relationship you people gave between Groove and Skids which really intrigues me in how that came to be?
And Three - The direction you took on how to redesign Groove's War Within character design, well not entirely but I very slightly which always interests me regarding Protectobots!
Thoughts in all the work in this page, it is a excellent team effort and I hope you do more similar stories like this in the future!

About showing emotion and tears, we alweay keep in mind issue G1 Marvel US 75-77, as they feature both Scorponok's and Optimus's death: there's a huge display of pain and sorrow there, gained through powerful gestures as means of expression.
Groove, just like Skids, comes from the "Liberation" generation, the one that is activated at the early stages of the Golden Age. They share a similar age and similar experiences; they are also between the advisors of Sentinel Prime, as they both showed great interest in key aspects of society: social relations, nature and balanced development. As scholars, their friendships looked fairly natural.
In the end, glad you liked the Groove redesign: this is something that we encourage the artists to do--it's important that we balance the official model sheets and the freedom of personal artistic views.

That makes more sense to me now and yes I surely did like Groove's redesign. Yep speaking of model sheets I have those regarding Groove but I'll save that for that day to speak of.
