A while ago asked me how I make my word bubbles for my Inside Out comic. So I've been meaning to share this technique I use as I have not seen this explained anywhere and few comics use this technique. I love these word bubbles because they don't cover up your hard made backgrounds. I used Photoshop CS3 but I know things like GIMP and SAI have similar tools and I'm sure this can be adapted for those. Feel free to ask any questions if I wasn't clear. Also please tell me of any spelling errors as I can fix this still. Wow the category for tutorials was buried.Here is the pen tool tutorial.

Big problem - I can't find the elliptical tool anywhere, I think I just don't have it? Only a rectangle and I checked every menu and setting and whatnot. Can't make a neat circle any other way

Click on the rectangle tool and hold it and you'll get other options. It's in there.
You can also make nice circles with the Elipse too. If there's a tiny black arrow in the tools you can click and find more tools under them.

An easy to apply and well described method for every comic artist. My parallel universe selves that made comics instead of literature will be very thankfull to your respective selves. And this self of mine here in this universe will applaud you to you sharing that wisdom with all the people out there, which may use the classic white bubble instead.

Thank you for the tutorial! It is annoying when the hard works got covered by a speech bubble. Though I'm not very sure how to find the same setting since the layout of Photoshop Element Mac is very different.

No prob. I used to make tradition speech bubbles with white backgrounds. They looked nice but covered all my art. This solved the problem. I'm not familiar with Elements.

I mostly use it for effects at the moment ^w^ The filters are great. I am not very good with mouse coloring. But I try to practise a lot. I am happy to be more active ^w^ Its my last year in middle school and I was( and still am) very busy with school Owo

Drawing with the mouse is hard. But I have a tutorial that shows you how to ink with the pen tool. You'll get great lines with it. Then you can color your art under the lines. I know I haven't posted much on this account. I've mostly been on My comic there is already up to page 7. Good luck with school.

It is! I bought new pens, and try them out soon too. Maybe I will finally find a my way for coloring. But I will give photoshop still a chance. Maybe I just need experience.

Just practice with all the tool. It's pretty easy and I'm self taught in it. I just started experimenting with it. Yeah if you like it please watch me there too. But I always post journals here.

I mean the movie was great, but I am not into the fandom. Yes it's always best to tell the truth. And yes one must always be honest with friends. Oh yes I don't like undertale at all. I get quite tired of seeing "cute" skeletons all over DA.
