The Bellflower Numbers, Mona , Luna & Damsie sat together in their "mother"'s botanical garden discussing their ideas for an appropriate gift for their beloved friend GDN-001 Jovie , but nothing seemed to work out right until a little butterfly settled down on Luna's shoulder and Mona laughed that Saturn, one of the Stardroids on whose spaceship/station Jovie was living, was fascinated by her wings, because he and his brothers would have never seen butterflies on any other planet in the universe before. This gave Damsie another idea of what they could craft for Jovie, so she doodled a quick design concept sketch and the three agreed to show it to their mother, Dr. Linda Bellflower , to ask for her help ...

With Dr. Bellflower's support they created a dozen of mechanical butterflies (in the size of real living butterflies) who could flutter around in Jovie's quarters on the Stardroids' ship - simply called Robotic Butterfly Numbers (RBN) and each with the coloration theme of their bodies as a name:

RBN-002 Red
RBN-003 Ora(nge)
RBN-004 Tawny
RBN-005 Yellow
RBN-006 Green(y)
RBN-007 Mint
RBN-008 Turquoise
RBN-009 Blue
RBN-010 Roy(al)
RBN-011 Violet
RBN-012 Silver

The wings of those mechanical butterflies are made of the same materials as regular mood rings, so they can change their colors at will, by verbal order or as a side effect of changing emotions [Pinky in the drawing seems to get bored of my long description - his wings change from purple to blue].
Both sides of their wings have light collecting gems to absorb solar, lunar and even electric light to convert it in own light energy for the three light bulbs each of their bodies features, so they can even work in the dark like fireflies.
Their main purpose is taking care of flowers, so they have a proboscis under their face plate [Pinky's has just been activated, so his face plate is still open till the proboscis is fully retracted] to analyse what the plant in front of them needs - water, light, fertilizer?
But Jovie could also take them as a reconnaissance squad to another planet for analyzing the environment, since their synthetically furry bodies can cope with almost all temperatures on almost any planet.
Another nice ability of the RBNs is their strength - three of them could carry a cat bot like Orion together.
