Ur a really awesome artist btw! I just got into semi-realism and this is really helpful. I'm not very good w skin textures. Sigh. I found the redness around the eyes made it look much more realistic. It's so awesome that such a little thing Makes such a difference.

it depends on the situation, hard to answer, some time I use 1 layer only sometime several layer,
my advice, you can free to use layer, don't worry about that,what ever suits your work. ^_^

This tutorial is easily one of the best if not the best tutorial I have seen online. Trust me, I have seen countless of tutorials. I really appreciate you posting this because not only have I been a big fan of your art works, it has really helped someone like me who has found a lot of inspiration in your gallery. Lately, I have been studying anatomy for drawing and I have been working hard on improving my drawing style. I wanted to ask you for your advice on developing a drawing style the way you did. How did you develop yours?

I practiced observation objects around me, I try imagine objects suit for geometric shapes,
like my television, television have a rectangle shape or if I want draw Lightning from final fantasy
I try observation her face and I found easy shape for draw her face,
she have face shape like pick guitar or egg reverse shape, I mean you should will notice everything become easy shape,
Why I explained about this because most artist miss about shape , even though they will can use good colors,
That first I practiced, its help me improve drawing and sketch. actually I still have a lot for developing a drawing,
I will try advise in other tutor in future, please follow my gallery.

you may be notice shape of eyes your character favorite or idol your favorite and start practice drawing their eyes only.
practice regularly it's make you have familiar and more expertise.

I don't have any talented too but I love drawing since I'm kid,I drawing and painting regularly although people around me told me my painting look bad and I'm not suit to be artist but I'm not give up because I believe if I try, I will can do it and I'm lucky,when my mom have alive she always support me, I want told you ,you must have attempted and drawing or painting regularly, You should will practice since sketch, it important very much because it's pillar of your picture, you don't give up.

i am so sorry to hear that about your mother *pat* i am drawing non digitale for 5/6 years almost 7 i started digitale drawing in august of last year and drawing is really hard for me cause i have movement problems with my hands and other problems as well i really wanne be good but on there other hand i dont think i can cause someone told me 2 days ago screamed out at me quit the digitale drawing already you will never be a pro those people on that website are all naturel gifted for drawing and your not i also want you to quit devianart cause your no good
i felt like jump off you roof and kill myself when i heard this and i cried about it allot it still bothers me so thats why i cant draw well now.

I'm so sorry to hear about your hands, Don't care people rude to you, That you do it very good, and you are true talent, why you blame yourself ? you want give up for someone told you like that ? you must showed him or her that you can do. you must focus practice and learn basic drawing ( you can search tutor more in internet ) and if you have problem for draw some shape. I advice you use Pen tool for help you draw some shape you not can do, I mean you must have adapt something you not do like normal hands.
All that I want told you, you don't give up, You know I'm play guitar too and I practice hard too like I practice drawing and someday I found this clip.

i dont know if the pentool helps cause the shapes come out weird a more worse my hand keeps shaking lately i draw digitale so bad gosh..i cant stop my hand from shaking please dont say i am good at it its super hard for me i wanted normale hands dammit and my parents want me to stop cause i sit to much at the pc i dont do anything else so yeah i feel depressed and bad about myself
