Aaw, he looks a lot like my Rufus (a japalura). I only got him 2 months ago, and so far he's been great.

Any idea how long it takes for these guys to grow out of a 10gal home?

As long as you only have one, a 10 gal cage should be just fine. They don't get very big. He's actually full grown in this picture.

I've been after a Dragon Agama for a while now. Just don't have space.

One usually does well in a 10-20 gallon tank. I've got three in a 20 gallon with a mesh extension I build to put on the top. As long as they can climb up something (why I built the mesh top), they usually stay in that spot. Also, they do perfectly well in room temperature so as long as it's between 70-80 degrees, they do fine.

lol Yeah room temp in the States maybe. Would need a heat source over here. I may get one or two when we move to our new flat though, we'll have more space then. We have about 35 herps as it is though so we'll have to see what things are like when we get everything set up at the new place.

Oops, my bad. I was surprised to learn that there was no air conditioning in most of Europe when I went to Germany last summer. I live in Texas, so the idea that there was no air conditioning was quite daunting.

35 herps? That must get expensive . I hope you'll have room for a Dragon Agama once you're in the new place, they're fun and really striking.

Fingers crossed.

It does get expensive, what with food, electric for heat and UV power supplies etc. But they're well worth it.

I've been looking for a good photo of a nice individual of this species.
Compositionally, actually, I've noticed in the photo his eye is placed perfectly so the viewer's eye follows the stripe down the body. Nice shot.

Very nice all and all.

He's quite a good subject for photos
My females never want to stay still. I think they're both still getting adjusted.

Thank you for the comment.
