Description
Once more I arrive with something *other* than the thing I'm supposed to. Is this normal? Probably not.My wandering attention was taken by the Winter Angel, and what it immediately sprang to then was a Spring angel. So here she is ^^
The usual poor background is offset by the fact that I actually attempted to draw (wait for it) a different style of wing! Whatcha think? I surprised myself, actually, but after drawing this... well I think that unless I do the rest of the series (summer and autumn) I prefer the bigger ones I started with.
But there, I can't stop any longer, it's late!
Time; four hours, sketch to finish.
Materials; tech-pencil sketch, scan and coloured in photoshop with a mouse. (I still do all my colouring with a mouse. All...

[Also note: download big file for big file. Seriously, I mean... I didn't realise how big this was until it was. Just over A4 at 400 dpi is a little bit bigger than I'd imagined...]

She's lovely, and I love the colours you chose! I like the way the wings came out.

Heh, thankyou, she didn't quite turn out as I was expecting, but the overall effect is right, and that's what counts here ^^ And a fave to boot, that's fantastic!
Summer's going to be put up this evening too, in about ten minutes after I answer the rest of my comments.

I couldn't mistake this for the spring angel. Good job . For trying a new wing style I think it came out okay.
For some reason she looks like she'ld be small, like a fair or something. But that might just be me.
Can't wait to see the other season angels !

Summer is on the way already, believe it or not... I'm trying to use this one as a base to smooth out the mistakes I made. Basically I did this in four straight hours with not much else to do, so I didn't spot the errors I'd made until it was too late.
And thanks, it's the ears that give her away, the pic started out as a fairy concept, but I thought... why not make her an angel instead? Right at the last minute, and thus the hours of labour to finish it
You'll see the rest soon enough, I just wish I wasn't wasting my time on these and could wok on my Project Holiday stuff. But art-block is art-block is art-block.

Nah, for me blocks are like... a dark room. When I'm looking for my muse, or I want to draw something in general, I get an idea for a pic and try to see it as I want it. Then I try to make the hand match the mind's-eye view.
When I've got a block I can't see it properly and the drawing doesn't come out the way it should, as if I was trying to draw it in poor light, and when I can see it properly... art happens ^^

Ah! I think I know what your talking about there. I hate it when these kinds of things happen. My prob is that I can get I rough view but not a detailed view. Sometimes I also know the angel at which I want to draw something but unless I go get e ref. my hand just can't put it on paper.

Just remember that references can be your greatest friend. Some of the best artists here still take out the old anatomy book before attempting certain poses. That, or they look in the mirror for half an hour and decide that they might have a clue about what they want to do... ^^ Don't spread that last bit around though

Thanks... but I just looked at this again... four hours of staring at something really blinds you to imperfections, ne? Especially when you're trying to get the details right. She just looks so... thin... Well I guess it can't be helped, I may draw this again, I may not ^^
Besides, I got a fave out of you, so that's good enough for me!
