And if you hadn't caught on, weapons in this comic have their own PP charge, rather than ammo.
Some weapons, like the Gengar's stolen one, provide other abilities, like that pesky barrier.
(Team Rescue Badges are what gives the team in this comic their armor; I guess you could compare them to the omni-tool from Mass Effect)
