Description
Very early days on this one, but hopefully it will add as a reminder to me to finish things quicker than I have been doing so in recent months.Based on a special character from Warhammer.
EDIT: updates for all!

How do you get such small pieces of green stuff to adhere together without destroying the detail of the smaller individual parts you have sculpted?

It's all about layering, you make an armature, add shape to it and then build up from there (a bit like how a house gets constructed).

I'll have to keep that in mind. Though could I possibly trouble you with a request on your next project? I'ld love to see a stage by stage of your work, it would give me great insight into the process. I've been trying to work on my own sculpting, to varying success, and would welcome any pointers you have.

I've already made stage by stage tutorials, you can find them in the tutorial section on my page underneath my journals.

Not yet, though I've been close once or twice.
I'm having to re-work a lot of the upper body armature at the moment on this one.

Rawrrr. Only the tongue, some teeth and a pair of nostrils is missing now. But the structure on the head is amazing. That's a spiky lizard with a big variety of horns. Maybe i should check the warhammer page. At the moment i have some ideas who this can be, because there are not many character lizards.

It's the same one who is already in the Lizardman book, there's a model too, but I wanted to have a go at him myself.

how many sittings did it take you for that head? (or if you use heat, how many times did you cook it before you took this pic?)

I didn't have to re-sculpt any of it, it's just the usual, each stage gets split up with a drying period:
1. Quick armature
2. bulk it out a bit
3. sculpt up to eyelids.
4. put in lids and eyes.
5. Sculpt teeth and top head scales.
And then move on to the bottom jaw.
Overall if I speed dry green stuff, about 45 minute to one hour under a hot lamp (not too close) does the trick, it becomes hard enough I can do the next stage.
