I think Mer De Noms was such an intro to the Thirteenth step. Their first album still had a bit of rock charm lacing the somewhat harsh lyrics - while their latest is quite different. It no longer thrives on the need to be hardcore, when it already has the attention of half the Tool fans out there (which is an insanely large crowd). I'm not saying this is a marketing scheme, nor Tool fans are obligated to like A Perfect Circle. I'm saying that's how I see it. Thirteenth step is lulling, and I love that about it. It's more dream like, I'm sure it's dealing with the softer and more tender emotions.
ahh... anyway... you don't know how long I've been waiting to talk about my most loved band. Three whole working days, and one afternoon. Then perhaps a year.
