Then again, the majority of the internet populice doesn't exactly use their God-given critical thinking skills. Most "Black American" stereotypes are Gansters and whatnot that are distinctively against anything "not black". They dont think before they act, therefor their emotions override their commen sence and they rant and rant about things that are completely irrelivant.
Similar to the Killswitch Engaged argument, you cant say their cover of Dio's "Holy Diver" is bad or else people will think you're anti-black and they'll jump down your throat with all kinds of things that are obviously not true, because their lead vocalist is African-American.
Its not like the enemies in Resident Evil 5 are the intelligence deprived mindless dumb-dumbs like in the earliy games of the serise. Pah! Capcom is making Resident Evil 5 speacial in that the emenies are cordenated and use a strategic thinking AI. Nor does Chris Redfield, like you said, splur out volgar, inappropreate, or otherwise degrading language.
In the end, its only as racist as you think it is. I dont really aprove of all the Word War II FPSs out there, not because I think its anti-german, but because about three fourths of them are sold behind counters in Germany and are a constant reminder of the most embarassing point in Germanic history.
One final note, BiggSis has my sympathy, having to listen to somebody rant and complain about the antagonists of a movie are dark skinned makes me cringe. And incase nobody notice, the Spartans weren't exactly "white".

i just saw a prevue for RE5 on G4 E3 thing and i onley saw 1 black zombie and u have a black girl as yur partner so i dont think they can call it racest now, wich they shudnt hae in the first place
besides the games made in Japan have u ever herd of the japanes KKK no cuz thear isnt a white power movement in japan so they shudnt call it racest, not that im saying thera arnt racest japanes people well, im sure thear has to be some, whut do u think?

wow. i used to kinda think it might be a little racist.... what with shooting Spanish people (who btw spoke odd, ungrammatical Spanish) and then African people... Now that i think about it the only way to NOT kill other race zombies would be to place the games in he U.S..... but then the scenery would be boring, something we're already used to, indifferent. And the virus was supposed to end with Raccoon city (i believe).... maybe LATER it would just be a game placed in the U.S.... like the whole country is being destroyed by the virus....

Good points man. I don't much care for the RE games either. Though when you broght up ww2 that was a little uncool cause i aint to proud ot say this but I am an ex-skinhead but don't get me worng i am not a skinhead any more cause I quit givin a fuck about every one and every thing on this shitty planet years ago. I don't find this offensive at all; in fact, I'm pretty much on the same boat as you.
The way I see it, some people need something to blame for all the problems in the world, when it's really the fault of society itself. A kid doesn't shoot up his school because he saw it in a video game, he just snapped from all the bullying he went through in his life. No one wants to take responsibility for it, so they look through all his things and blame the games that they play and the music that they listen to and etc.

I don't find this offensive at all. I actually find it interesting. People seem to have forgotten that in order for someone to make a good movie, they have to be realistic. Speaking of the info you just gave. I heard of a controversy similar to that surrounding the movie 300. I dunno if anyone else has heard of it though.

Someone I spoke to complained about 300 being racist, because the Persians (the antagonists) were dark skinned in the movie. I didn't even know what to say about that.

RE4 had Cubas not Spaniards(the correct term).
And the thing is, there are white people in africa.
But i don agree that this is a silly thing to get made over seeing that cubans didn't get mad over RE4.
Then again RE could use a black lead.....just to break the cliche of the Balck guy dying in these type of situations.

Zombie legends originate from Africa.. So a game based in Africa with zombies wouldn't be that far of a stretch.. (Yes I am well aware a African Zombie is much different then the pop culture ones.. I'm just saying that "our" zombie would never have been if the Africans and Haitians didn't invent it first..)

You make a good point. I personally don't play many video games and will probably never pick up something violent like Resident Evil, but I find myself agreeing with you.
I don't believe in mocking someone for their ethnicity or oppressing them because of their skin color. But at the same time, being a certain race doesn't entitle you to special treatment.
