I grew up in a small town myself, the only really artistic graffiti I'd generally see would be the stuff that rolled through on the trains.

It's the same here! Nothing really artistic unless it rolls through town. I'm one of the only people who actually enjoy getting stuck waiting on the trains--I love art of all mediums, and graffiti is no exception.
