thank you! It was one of my favorite laneways in Melbourne, seemed like there were always new murals every time I went there.

The angle of the shot-revealing, the gloss and light of the laneway-surreal, the height to the end- imaginativeΒ
Wonderful work, I would love to walk down this Β Β Β Β

For the first time I see how Graphity can enlighten a grey, dusty alley. Nice! Thank you!

Is there such a thing as Dystopian Romantic?
There is a grungy, dystopian feel and yet the lines are so clean, the colours, clear.
I am loving the Melbourne pictures that show a different side.
Usually it is all happy tourist, parks and gardens and architectural bits.

I like that term, it should be a thing if it isn't already Β Thank you very much!
Β Melbourne takes on a whole different character in the late night/early morning, it's a really fun city to explore.

You're shots have such an awesome, consistent style to them. Photomatix looks like it can do really good things. Can you compare to tweaking levels and hdr toning in photoshop/lightroom to that? I'd really love to know how they compare.

Sorry this took a day longer than expected, I tried the best I could to make it look similar using the file>automate>merge to HDR pro option in photoshop CC 2014, I think I ended up with stronger highlights and a bit less detail overall, but the HDR merging/toning in photoshop has definitely gotten better since the last time i tried it.

I don't have a lot of experience with doing HDR merging/toning in photoshop, but I've found that it tends to make more "natural" looking HDR images, without as much detail or grittiness.Β I'll give this image a go with photoshop later today and post it as a reply to your comment

thank you muchly! It actually started pouring about 5 minutes before I shot this, I had to duck into an alcove and shoot from there so the camera didn't get too wet.

This looks like a movie set. I'm waiting for a villain to run through here in the shadows.

It'd make a good set, although you'd have to shoot in the middle of the night to catch it without a bunch of tourists around. Β Thank you!
