Another Blake's 7 character I've wanted to draw: Cally the Auron. She must be my second favorite character and yet the worst written character in the show ironically because she transforms from a hardcore guerrilla fighter to a touchy-feely pacifist out of nowhere. I guess the BBC wasn't fond of the idea of a woman terrorist?Related content

I liked her a lot, but this was back in the late 70's, very early 80's, and the BBC weren't ABOUT to have a woman on a scifi show who was more kickass than the men were!

Phooey on demure! With all of the kickass women on TV now, that sexist BS wouldn't fly with the audience. Cally was Xena before Xena ever showed up! She and Avon were perfectly mated and matched. But the BBC even screwed THAT UP!

Cally was such a badass when we first saw her! Maybe she could have been like "Bones" from Star Trek! A medic who can be pretty hardcore when the time comes!
