Description Note that the devices will not work within affecting distance of the judges or Flynn. The affecting distance of a device is a radius of 20 yards, so you must be a minimum of 40 yards away from an opponent for the devices to work.

Creations cannot exceed 500lbs in weight and 12ft in any dimension.

The devices are between the size of a phone and a Nintendo DS. While their basic construction is the same, they can come in different colors. Chips are the size of SD cards.

Lo, it is done!

Time for an obligatory Munchkin Question:

Could a contestant temporarily counterfeit more chips with the Magician chip? They're not 'real world' items, but obviously other chips exist within the setting.

They could make more chips, but the chips would not work as they were supposed to. They would look right, but they wouldn't work, and they'd disappear after 10 minutes.

Well, I already figured they'd only exist for ten minutes. They don't work because the real chips are intrinsically magical or something? Being advanced tech shouldn't necessarily forbid them, since not everybody understands the tech of how a lamp works, but you implied a lamp is a legit conjuration.

I'll say they don't work as there are limiters on the device's internal database that prevent certain objects, like the reality changing chips, from being created correctly. I suppose if you could hack in to the device mainframe and alter the coding you could creating working chips or exceed the 10 minute limit.

Fair enough.

Note that not being an artist, I'm not actually entering the OCT, but I was curious, and I figure it couldn't hurt to make you think that through.

... Well... Randy now has the power to conjure an item, coupled with his ability to conjure items... I hope you see where I'm going with this.

But on the real, Randy gets one rule-free conjure as far as i am concerned...or should optimistically look at it.

But yeah, I'm liking the concept of these things. They'll be fun to work with. Good job. Thumbs up and so forth.

Do the contestants have to get this at the beginning of the round or can they get it later (like, a judge gives it to them or something)?

Also, the something created must be a solid, liquid, or gas. Does that mean the contestant can make a cage around them to keep their opponent within a certain radius? And does it allow the contestant to make clouds to block out the sun or would they have to make a tent?

When the contestants get the devices is up to you. It could be at the beginning of the round, halfway through, or even at the end after you're done fighting.

The creations cannot exceed 500lb in weight and 12ft in any dimension. I suppose a cage is possible, though once the cage is created nothing else can be made for 10 minutes. Same with a tent.

So, a round is won when a contestant is unable to fight anymore (usually K.O.)? (I'm assuming that since it's possible they won't have the fancy gadgets until after the fight is over.)

Thanks. That helps a lot.

Yes. If neither contestant has a device then the round is over when one is unable to fight.

Last question (for now). When a user creates/summons an item with the device, how long does it (the item) last? Is there any way to get rid of the item before the time limit (assuming there is a time limit)?

As it says on the ref, the object will exist for 10 minutes. It can be canceled early pressing the second button, but the device will need a short "recharge" period before it can create something new.

I feel so blind suddenly...

Got it. I'll let you know if I have any other questions (though I don't think I will).

YES! Question time lol.

1)Do partners share devices or get one each
2)I don't get the "device will only work within affecting distance of other contestants devices". What is this distance and does this mean if they want to test the device at their leisure an a contestant isn't around that they cannot?

Other than that based on Paradyn's powers I guessed what his chip would do XD

TheDemonSurfer In reply to Prismshock [2011-09-27 20:40:53 +0000 UTC]

It's mentioned up on the ref that the devices only affect a 20 yard radius. That is the devices' affecting distance, which means you need to be within 40 yards of an opponent who also has a device (20 yards + 20 yards). If you're outside that area, the devices go into standby mode and will not work. So yeah if no one's nearby you can't play around with it, although you can still read the directions.

There are only 16 devices and chips, so a team would have to share one.

KK one last thing, how much imagination do we have over these or do these have strict rules. I'm thinking about cool down times or charge times to produce objects of varying sizes...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheDemonSurfer In reply to Prismshock [2011-09-27 20:54:14 +0000 UTC]

You know I never thought about that. I suppose there would be a charge time needed to produce a large object, and a cool-down period for a rapid succession of creations.
