Description Light Wings

Butterfly come,
butterfly go,
Butterfly flutter-by
To-and-fro

‘Mami,’ I ask as childer,
‘Do I care to task
the ways and charms
of the flutter-by?

Hence we trap behind glass
Its time it shall pass
In misery and solitude –
My butterfly shall see reality!’

For the butterfly,
In a world that flutters by,
Sees apple blossom and bluebell velvet
And grass and daisies
And de child sun
And de water
And de light
Forever more.

‘Childer, childer,
you know little of the butterfly
that flutter-by attitude
is what we all see
not the bye heavy on flutter-by wings.

Butterflies live
Yet they die
Flutter-by come
Flutter-by gone
In but four and ten days!
Let it see the
rose and star!’

My top lip curled,
Chest pulled tight.
‘Humph!’ I exclaimed,
expelled flutter-by to sky.
