These are awesome! They really capture the styles of each director. There is the same assignment at my design school, but your covers kick all ass!

I think the Terry Gilliam is more "Ralph Steadman" style ([link] )
I like it never the less.
I adore you're designs. I think the Lynch cover is brilliant. love the way his tux merges with the black background.
great work man.
take care.

Ha! Yes, Steadman is one of my heroes! To be honest he definies Gilliam in many ways. Gilliam's real own style was not really possbile to capture.

I beg the differ sir!
Gilliam did the whole Monty Python old school animation (paper cuttings animation, frame by frame)
I'm not sure if he personally drew each and every animation in the show/movies, but it's his baby!
Gilliam and Steadman only real connection (that I'm aware of, anyhow) is Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas; in which u can, perhaps, say Gilliam was influenced by Steadman's illustrations, from the book.
correct me if I'm wrong here
BTW: I'm also a big Steadman fan.

He animated and did everything in the Monty Python series and movies.
But his style was impossible for me to "copy".
So i went to his Tideland and Fear and Loathing style. And it was rusty and used grass and Steadman's influences. And it was easier to use (for me).
His drawing style never changed really.

as much as I'm a Gilliam fan, I have to say Tideland was nearly impossible to watch.
well, it started great. and the cinematography was astounding through out the film. but damn, some parts of it are... hell man, I donno even know how to call it!
BTW: too bad Bridges overdosed so early in the film.

I never saw the film, because there is still no german release date... I could watch the movie in english, but i prefer to watch them in german first and then watch the english version.

Jeff Bridges dubbed in German is a MUST!
personally I hate dubbing, even if I see a film in a foreign language, dubbed to another foreign language! it usually fucks up the film, IMO.
did you saw Brazil? Gilliam's at his best.
well, Fear andn Loathing is his BEST. but Brazil is also at the top

Sehr cool.

I would definately pick up those books in Borders, flick through them while sitting on one of the big sofas, perhaps after buying a small cup of coffee from the starbucks there, but them back on the stand and leave thinking "what great books! maybe i'll buy them some day...oh! a puppy!"
