Wolfgang Dietrich has only fragments of memories pertaining to his life before awakening inside a liquid-filled tank in a secret underground laboratory on the outskirts of Cardinal City. He was part of a shadowy Neo-Nazi organization's genetic program attempting to create their much-sought-after superior being. The experiment at first seemed like a success when he demonstrated all the characteristics the scientists were hoping for. However after only a few weeks of trials and tests his body began to reject the treatment and his cellular structure began to break down; he was thus deemed a failure.
The scientists found that his condition could be stabilized with drug therapy, but the members backing the project rejected the extra cost it would place on them. Wolfgang was placed in a containment field but before he could be "put down" he escaped, manifesting his psychic abilities. By encasing himself in a bubble of psycic energy and expanding it outward, he obliterated the field generator and proceeded to slaughter every scientist and guard that crossed his path. He left the testing lab in ruins and began a life of crime, raiding medical facilities in search of the drug Toroximene which can stabilize his deteriorating cells. Little does he know, he continues to be tracked by his creators, known only as the Sons of Thule.

It's meant as an homage to classice 30's/40's comics like Captain America where the good guys fight the evil Nazis.
