Blessed were the celestial;Exalted were the ephemeral.

As for the rest of us, "We mortals are but shadows and dust. Shadows and dust..."

Those who simplify us to our physical compositions, with no further ambitions, hardly get anything done. Nihilism and hedonism represent nothing but humanity's descent into its primal urges of pleasure without responsibility.
