Looks sooo good! It wouldn't serve 8, it would serve ME! lol I love onion rings. I'm avoiding excess fat lately because being gallbladder-less my body throws a tantrum with a lot of fried food. Can you bake these?

Cooking is as much "art" as everything else.

***If you like fluffier onion rings, you can use a couple teaspoons of baking soda instead of corn starch.

Never would have thought soda goes into onion rings. Wonder what would happen if I added coke instead. (don't have club soda laying around)

Its not "soda" as in soda pop or cola, its carbonated water, basically. Theres no flavor to it. What this does is make a batter light and fluffy. Similar concept to making beer batter.
Coke definitely wouldn't work, it would probably taste really weird (if not down right gross) but if you have a lemon-lime type soda around, that *might* be okay.

I know what club soda is (basically sparkling water), I was just sincerely wondering if coke would work since I know there's marinades and stuff using it.

When you say Soda do you mean lemonade or just sparkling water? Soda is a word used in Germany, too, but for various things and I didn't get a clear answer from Google, what Soda is, when you use the word in English.
These look delicious! I like onion rings so much! I think I will try this when I get to it!

She means club soda, which is just carbonated water, no flavors.

In the grocery store, in the prepared boxed foods section, there are instant potatoes. They are basically just flakes that you add hot water too and get something that approximates mashed potatoes. They are not great. That is how it works in the US anyway.
