Description I was walking down the street and i seen thing dead bird. it looked really nice and i had to take its pic. funny enough i seen a squerl next to it about a foot away. i think it was eating then it hit the power line

That is one ugly bird. At the head anyway.
The rest of it is gorgeous. It's sad that it had to be dead for this shot.

Thank you for your comment. it seemed to have no impact marks so i assume it was on the power pole and hit the line or something. but who knows? i agree it is beautiful... maybe with this pic people can see beauty in more forms. i like you pics too, really nice. i hope to be able to go to some parks and take more better pics of everything. alright, talk later maybe .

This is a Turkey vulture (Cathartes aura). You are probably correct about the squirrel being a meal. It is likely that the squirrel was roadkill that the vulture came across, and unfortunately for the scavanger, s/he also became a victim of oncoming traffic. It is sadly common for scavengers to die trying to find a meal on the road, so I always attempt to move roadkill when I can, for the hungry to feed on in relative peace. The deaths aren't entirely wasteful that way.

Beautiful, even in this broken form.
