Description Studies based on p.4-5 of Hampton's figure drawing book. I have trouble keeping them the same size. The pencil brush is fun to work with.

Photoshop CS6, Intuos 5 with art pen.

interesting sketching methode!

why would you try and make them all identical? i think this is much more fun (and "realistic" or "naturalistic" anyways). i´ve already imagined how you´d go on and what build all the different figures will have. and which sex - i think you could vary the size of their pelvis even more, to make them look either more male (when slimmer) or more female (with wider hips)!

i really admire your constant studying. always looks educative and entertaining!

LOL, I'm anal retentive and admire people who can make even their practice sketches look neat. But you make the excellent point that bodies vary a great deal and we should learn to draw different types of people; I shall keep that in mind!

Hampton's book covers the pelvis pretty well; feel free to dig through my studies if they help: thethirdcartel.deviantart.com/…

woah, my boyfriend helped me out on this one - i didn´t get the freudian connection on my own lolz

i know that, i´m a lazy brat in every single aspect in my life, except with my artworks. i tend to procrastinate, yeees, but if i "finish" them, i want them to be as close to perfection as i think i can achieve.
but i had to lay that aside anyways, since i´m trying to make money with drawings and paintings - cause now i have to (or should at least) stick to deadlines which makes me declare something finished at a state where i´d normally consider it to be on the right way x)

but enough about me.

i think it´s good to not try and perfect something, but to leave it as it is and to aim towards perfection through repeating it as often as it takes to get the perfect result without having to correct or even think about it. or not.

I hear ya. Perfectionism can slow down progress if one tries to make every practice piece "just right"; often, it's more important to actually go through the exercise many times and learn from each iteration instead. I'm totally guilty of this, heh.
