There were skinny horses in makeshift pens next to the tents. He couldn't just jump in there and free them. But he knew who could help.
“It's crazy. And stupid,” he said to himself as he trotted along the tracks in the snow to his destination. As he hoped. And he wasn't wrong when he came face to face with the bear. He had seen this creature several times in his life. Mostly from far away as he turned and ran the other way. But he overcame the fear growing in his chest.
