Description
Physical barriersshutting us out
Open the gate
for an easier route
Junctions might open
a different way
Closing it off
You're bound to obey
Directional dominance
Redundant strife
Let me be the one
controlling my life

I've got news for you... You're much closer to being on the road to perfection than you'd ever dare to hope.

Interesting concept ... love it....i think we make our own paths...but sometimes we will stray from it when we get too emotional...

Thank you! I believe our emotions can take us to places we didn't know about in the first place.

We all have choices in life but sometimes it will change your happiness to sadness or darkness. That's why we need to be smart in choosing our decisions.

But when some of our decisions are closed off, it can be tought not to end up on the road of sadness. Luckily, we always get another chance.

I think we all feel as though we aren't completely in control, some may call it fate or destiny, sometimes our lives are decided by those around us. This poem speaks volumes, especially the concluding lines 'Let me be the one/Controlling my life'. Oddly, defiant yet desperate is the tone, incredibly poignant. The idea of doors/routes continuously opening and closing in both the second and first stanza, ('shutting us out/open the gate' & 'Junctions might open.../...Closing it off', I felt, was a clever touch. It helps to empathise the unpredictability of life and that our choices aren't always open to us. Well done, in the end, a wonderful piece
