Umm... my ways?
Just scrape the point of the pencil across the areas Β that will have shadows in them and the use the side of the dark bit of the pencil to draw the shadows and then rub your fingers over the shadows and also it helps when the person in the picture is sitting there waiting and judging X'3
It was actually pretty fun, and I want to do more in the future =3

I did!
And it took 3 days. I drew it at my mother's place (where I was staying that weekend,) scanned it at my apartment the next day (where I have my PC and no internet,) and then uploaded it at my mother's place a day later X'3
I really do want to both make better art and get better at the process of making art, because I would like to gift art the everloving sh^t out of my friends
(Also, internet at home would be helpful.)

I know the feel. That's the biggest reason I draw is so I can make someone's day with something cool. Also, I would appreciate consistent internet again. It's kinda tricky out where I am.

Where are you, if you don't mind my asking?
I know that the area where I live (out in the Mojave in southern CA) two different companies offer service, but in my apartment, one of them holds a monopoly, and that company (Frontier :I ) gives literally zero fucks about whether the internet is actually working or not -.-

Well, I'm stationed down in Georgia, but I'm currently over in Afghanistan. Internet is somewhat spotty and quite expensive out here. Only ways to get it are with the single service provider or to get a local wireless phone plan. The latter of which I have no need for.

That part is pretty cool, yeah. Flying around in the mountains is a good time, even if it gets pretty cold some flights.

Lol. This has happened on one flight. It was a particularly cold trip and their aircraft had no heat whatsoever. A blanket was available though.

This is very true. Lol. Even I would yell at someone for starting a fire in the cabin. My sole job is making sure the aircraft can fly. Can't do that if it's burned to the ground, you know?

I joined the army right out of high school. Picked helicopter mechanic as my job. Simple as that.
