Sorority room was dark, but far from quiet - air was disturbed by sounds of squeaks and quiet murmuring.

"Must be so, so disorienting being like that, yes? Too disorienting to even think about regretting, yes. Such a fun walk it was, yes, pulled by a string past all your friends and not friends, shown to them demonstratively without them having even a clue that it was you, yes. That you was anybody at all, you balloon."

Girl with dark hair and ebony skin have shuffled a bit on the edge of bed, getting more comfortable. One leg folded under her, and other resting on a contorting, squishing pink balloon, pinned to the floor by her weight. Fragile rubber pouch, filled with nothing but air - lest that would would every living soul in the world think upon looking at it - squeaked desperately under every rub from the stocking-clad foot.

"It must be one of those stories, yes. Where bratty girl gets taught a lesson, yes, by being turned by majick, changed and having her mind blown."

Foot brushed the surface of the balloon and slid over it, pushing air inside it from one side to another. Despite caving and bulging, balloon remained pinned to same spot on the floor.

"Then, by the morning light, balloon turns into a girl - enveloped by the sunlight, enlightened, yes. A totally different person, yes. And she and the new girl become bestest of friends ever, living happily ever after."

Foot's heel pressed gently into the rubber, slowly pushing down, until it met the hard floor through two thin layers of elastic material, stretched thin by pressure of air inside of foot outside.

"But to make story thrilling there must be a catch, yes! If air is let out, if balloon untied.. No more girl, just balloon. Ever balloon, always balloon. Never born, never known, never remembered, yes. Taken by the evil spirits, yes, spirited away!"

Foot have lifted, and a single toe circled around quivering rubber, nail scratching it through the cloth.

And then whole foot came down on it, pushing heavily, rubber bulging with pressure, creaking below the power it could not resist, could not escape, and could not plead for mercy.
"Have you ever heard of a balloon being easily untied, no? That air accidentally would escape it, no? That there was girl turned balloon, no? Have you memories of your plans for the evening, no? Your parents and home, no? Your name or that you somehow ever could have been human, no? No."

Sole met the floor. Air shook with a dull *Blam!* and several rubber shreds landed on the floor, most of them still in same spot where balloon was a moment ago.

"I guess it's permament now."
