      Ezio's heart pounded as he looked out the window and saw large squares and blocks made out of what looked liked glass. That couldn't be safe. " Ehi, Desmond....what is that massiccio thing?" Ezio pointed out the window with a dumbfounded look. Altair was snapped out of his thoughts, and stared at the huge, shiny shapes as well. His eyes became wide. These things looked almost..... alien. Not from any world he could imagine.

     "Um, those are skyscrapers, like buildings and apartments." Desmond said softly. It would be hard to get them used to modern times. "People live and work inside of them."

      Ezio's vision stayed locked onto a particularly large and shiny one as Desmond tried his best to explain.

      Altair's eyes returned to the ground as he half listened to Ezio and Desmond's conversation. Then it hit him. Something he didn't want to think about, something he was afraid of. "Everyone...they are all dead, are they not?" Altair spoke coldly and folded his hands together on his lap as he sat back against the van's cold wall.

     "Che?" Ezio questioned.

     "Everyone we knew, they have long since been gone, isn't it true?" He looked over to Desmond. The look in his eyes made Desmond uncomfortable,but then he realized the true intentions behind Altair's glare. He was trying not to cry.

     "Yeah, I'm...I'm sorry...." Desmond's vision shifted between Ezio and Altair as he saw the wondrous expression leave Ezio's lips and eyes. They were replaced with pain and desperation. He pulled his knees to his chest and slightly rocked. His eyes were slightly red and damp,but he wasn't completely crying, just sobbing. Now that Desmond had a good look at him, he looked younger. Barely seventeen, and yet he had mentioned some things that had happened later on to him. It must be so confusing and upsetting. If Desmond were the bromance type, he might've given Ezio a hug,but decided against it. He wasn't sure how the Italian would react.

     "Non e guisto." Ezio mumbled to himself.
