Description
Altair's feet slammed against the earth as he ran from the hostile guards. Another successful kill. Now he just had to escape, but luck was on his side. A beautiful brown steed was just in sight with long course black locks. He could easily get away with it. Jumping on its back, the horse instantly bolted before he could give it direction. It was as thought it read his mind. Finally, he was free from the guards. He slowed down the brown beauty and hopped off. Altair hadn't realized how exhausted he was and fell to his knees. The horse nudged him gently, making sure he didn't hurt himself. He stood up slowly and leaned onto a rather old looking oak. He rubbed his bloody hands on a near by bush, but some blood still remained. This horse moved closer.
"What are you doing?" Altair felt a little idiotic for talking to a horse, but no one else was around. He began walking, but heard the horses feet thump behind him. He ignored it and kept moving. It seemed like hours had past and the horse was still following the assassin. "WHY ARE YOU FOLLOWING ME?" Altair had much more emotion in his voice then he intended. The horse retreated. "Why don't you fear me?" Altair spoke softly. The creature crept closer. It was dark and so late, but Altair could see its dark eyes that seemed to stare into his soul. It breathed gently on his cold face. Altair's expression softened and he nudged his face against the steed's. It was so warm and a slight smile came across the young man's face. "So you're a new friend, huh?"

So, this explains why the horses always follow Altair!
They wanted to be his friends.

Oh, it isn't connected much to the story, it is more the characters. You don't need to know anything about the game to read it. Everything is explained.
