Silent Hill's new protagonist. I really have no idea why he went to jail,but I hate his name. HE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A FLIPPING MURPHY!He looks like a David, Brian, Joseph, or even Dominique not MURPHY! What would you name him if you could?
I'm looking forward to him <3 He might even replace Henry as my number 2,but Alex's spot ain't changing.
Murphy belongs Konami and should have a different name.

I have a feeling that his name is Murphy Pendleton for a reason.
Murphy actually means 'Sea Warrior,' and any Silent Hill fan looking forward to Downpour knows that this games' theme is Water. Sea Warrior = Water, no? It's just a guess. I thought Murphy was a ridiculous name as well, so I had to look up for some kind of meaning for both.
Also, Pendleton means 'overhanging settlement,' and' to a town or clifftop.' This Silent Hill game looks like its on a cliff top, and its also a town obviously lol
Just some cool things I noticed. I don't even know if they intentionally chose these names, but that's the only reason I could ever imagine why someone chose the name Murphy as their FIRST name for their child.... lol

Hrm...Henry is cute to look at, don't get me wrong, but I felt the story strained away from Silent Hill the most out of all the Silent Hills.
And I HATE Henry's voice actors. :U BLARH. I mean his voice isn't bad,but no emotion in the voice or his face, which makes no sense to me because Eileen and Heather have plenty of emotion, which makes Henry look ever worse.
I'm curious though, why don't you like Homecoming/Alex? I mean I keep hearing the same "It's American made!" reason from everyone or "He's like James!"

I didn't like it because it's like the others, I liked Origins. It could be a nice game if it wasn't labelled as a Silent Hill game. The thing is, I did enjoyed SH2 and I saw too much of it in Homecoming as well. As stranger that this might sound, I like SH2, I like James and I see part of myself in that game.
Alex isn't dislikeable, like James might be by that one reason you said, isn't just my kind of character. I did liked the monsters, the scenarios and the bad guys. Isn't because it's AMERICAN that I don't like it, it's because I saw too much of SH2. Maybe if I didn't like it like you, I would like SH: Homecoming.
Alex isn't bad, he's just not my kind.
But I understand you, I hate Laura, and everyone is like "SHE LOST HER PARENTS SHE'S A LITTLE GIRL!" <_<' Seriously?
At least I said I didn't totally hated Homecoming. Just Alex gets on my nerves.

Silent Hill 2 just...didn't grow on me. The only character I could stand was Angela, the acting was horrible (besides Angela),but the story itself and the music was good. And yes, acting is very important to me when it comes to entertainment. A game can be completely ruined for me if it has bad acting.
I bought Left 4 Dead 2 mainly because I thought the voice actors were sublime.
I've played Homecoming a lot (as you can most likely tell) and I like to look into to stuff much deeper and yes, on the surface Homecoming has some parallels to Silent Hill 2, but after playing it so many times, I took it in a completely different stride and find it to be much more intense then the others.

I liked SH2 because I'm romantic in a strange way.
I understand you, though. Acting does count that is one of the reasons why I never could stand Tidus or Sora. Or the English dub of Bible Black.
I only had it enough to beat it, but isn't THAT bad. It's just disappointing in some ways. I did hated the way they used PH, though.

I see what you mean about the Pyramid Head thing, and I would've preferred if they would've simply replaced the monsters head and it would've been 10x better, but I should remind you that he is considered the 'Bogeyman' and has NO relation or relevance to James's Pyramid Head. He is the punisher of Alex's father, Adam, for breaking the rules of the pact OR (which this is what I believe) is a representation of Alex himself, much like the other children who were sacrificed had their monsters. (Like Scarlet and Scarlet, Nora and Asphyxia, etc.)Which is why I'm not to picky about him being in it.
People mistake and think that Pyramid Head is Alex's punishment, when it is actually his father's and Alex's punishment is Amnion, the final boss. <3

I can't say I'm not romantic, I'm just strangely romantic, but my love interest doesn't mind really, she's even worse.
Well, I think it's they made a different monster it would be better. At least they tried to do it on Origins, why not do it on Homecoming? Using an icon is a very risky move.
