      Half of the motel room seemed to peel away, revealing a rainy, bloody, and gory landscape. There was a wobbly staircase that descended to the bottom of the building. The noise of the metal falling and cracking caused Lillian to cover hear ears, Adam to jump, Josh to scream, and Alex to grab his brother tightly. A large thudding and scraping could be heard from the room east of them.

      "Get behind me." Adam signaled to his family as they heard the wall be slammed on. The wall fell easily to the unknown force. It was a horrifying sight, one that would make serial killers cower in fear. It was a large, gray-skinned form. His or its, arms were soaked in blood. He towered well over eight feet. His scariest characteristic, though, was the massive pyramid that took place of his head.

    "Alex..." Josh weakly tried to move his head. Alex tightened his grip.

    "Don't look, don't...." He whispered softly to the younger boy, trying his best not to let the fear escape his voice. He failed.

    "What's wrong?" Josh pulled his head away and seemed to look the monster in its eyes, if it had any. Lillian saw quickly that the monster may have been making its way to her cowering children who were both now on the floor. Alex gripped Josh tightly, shielding his brother's eyes with his chest, so that they couldn't see their ultimate fate.

    "I WON'T LET YOU HURT MY CHILDREN!!!" Lillian ran in front of her sons and in one easy movement, the monster tore her in half at the waist with his massive blade, the tip of it barely missing the top of Alex's shark fin hair. The boys were soaked in her blood, as both halves fell to the ground.

   Alex was in shock,but kept clenching onto his brother, not wanting him to see the disturbing sight.

    "You sick FUCK!" Adam screamed, lunging towards the monster, but it quickly manuvered and sliced him down the middle.

    It switched its attention to Alex and his brother. The creature moved slowly nearer and all Alex could do was back away farther.

    "S-stop....please...you can kill me,but not Joshua..." Alex looked up at the creature, it seemed to tilt its massive helm, as if confused. A tongue slipped out from under the pyramid mask and licked some of the blood from Alex's face. Then it turned around, leaving the way it came. Alex stood up and made his way to the wobbly staricase, he looked back at his dismembered bodies of his parents.

   "Lemme see..." Josh coughed out. Alex loosened his grip and the young boy's brown eyes widened as he saw the bodies. He quickly turned away and sobbed into his brother's bloody shirt.

   As Alex made his way down the stairs, the world began to return to its original form. Although both boys were scared out of their wits and at lost of what to do, they felt at peace. Because maybe, just maybe, their parents made the right choice.
