Description
     The creature loomed closer to Alex. As its appearance was revealed to him more and more, he realized this couldn't be Elle. She was dead. This was just some sick monster version of her. Its head split in two revealing a blood vertical mouth and razor sharp teeth. Cheryl and Henry both backed away, climbing the stairs they had just descended, but Alex stayed frozen. The monster's arms seemed to stretch out, causing its arms to fall to the ground. It looked liked it was putting all it's weight on it's claws. The only thing that even resembled his friend was it's lower half (even though it was covered in blood from the knees down) and the ponytail attached to it's disturbing 'head'.

    "ALEX! COME ON!" Henry screamed as she stomped up the stairs. "RUN!" As soon as the two made their way a safe distance up the stairs, some of the steps collapsed completely in. One might be able to jump down to the rest of the steps and continue descending,but ascending was nearly impossible. Alex was trapped.

   "BllgrhhhqAasadsdalllexxxx...." The noise that monster made was between gurgling and screaming. Some of the sounds seemed to be Alex's name. It send shivers down his spine. When it lunged, he just barely got out of the way. He countered with slamming it on the head with his wooden weapon,but it snapped is half, rendering it useless. He frantically searched for another weapon while avoiding the toxic bloody concoction at monster spewed at him. What luck....there was a red box bolted in the wall that had 'Emergency' in big bold red letters on it. Behind the glass was a fire axe. He didn't even hesitate to break the glass with his bare hands. Although it left some newly formed cuts, it was worth the reward. He grabbed the axe and ran towards the monster. Before it could attack, he sliced it's head clean off. Blood went flying and some landed on his face. He backed away as the monster stopped twitching.

    "It...its safe to come down now." Alex yelled to the frightened duo. He smiled weakly through the darkness.

    Alex caught Cheryl as she jumped from the closest step. She jumped out of his arms shortly after he caught her. Then came Henry, who landed on Alex, hard. Henry quickly shot up and helped the other man up. Cheryl chuckled lightly. The Henry noticed his bleeding hand.

   "Are you okay?" He said softly.

    "I'm fine...." Alex said weakly.

    Henry ripped off some fabric from the bottom of his shirt and used it to wrap up Alex's hand. He smiled gently.

   "All better, now? Let's go." Cheryl spoke. The trio descended the stairs. Alex stayed in front while the other two followed. They both noticed something about how Alex walked. He seemed to walk slightly....off. Not like he was slowing them down,but it looked kinda painful.

   "Hey...you okay? We can stop if you need a break." Cheryl touched Alex's shoulder. She was rather concerned. His limp was unnoticeable on flat surfaces,but on stairs it was clear he was somehow injured.

   "No, I'm fine...." he said as they finally made their way to the first floor.

   "But you're limping." Henry said finally. Both he and Cheryl were afraid the monster damaged him more then they thought.

   "This...is from an old injury....I'm fine. Look the exit's that way." Alex's voice sounded full of so much sorrow.
