I may be the first person on this site to submit a fan art piece on this guy! Hey, I said I was going for obscure! Again, this character's an old favorite of mine since his introduction in the late 80's- early 90's Alan Grant/ Norm Breyfogle run (my all time favorite Batman creative team incidentally)!

Obviously inspired by V for Vendetta, Anarky is a politically motivated character dedicated to fomenting revolution & eliminating fascist & irreponsibly capitalist governments who in his first appearance dunked a polluting businessman's head in a bucket of his company's own toxic waste and videotaped it for the morning news (nowadays, he'd probably use Youtube)! The twist at the end was that he's only thirteen years old & wears a costume that makes him look taller than he really is. A few years after their Batman run, Grant & Breyfogle did a mini-series about Anarky that featured a face off against Darkseid himself! The ultimate anarchist versus the ultimate fascist! Unfortunately I haven't seen him in anything since. I hold out hope they'll bring him back. Personally I feel that in light of the current world economic situation, he's more relevant now than he was 20 years ago!

Some notes on the drawing itself. Since Anarky wears a harness designed to prop a fake head above his real one that explains why his shoulders seem so low in proportion to his neck. I'm more than willing to admit the anatomy in my drawings is not spot-on, but this is one case where the funky proportions are actually intentional! The real tricky part was all the campaign posters in the background which were all done by hand! I'm too broke for digital!
