Wow, that's amazing.

I've never been very good with pencil work, and I hate self portraits -the desire to change things for the better is overpowering- so I can't critique with any kind of authority on this.
Actually, I don't see anything I'd change, so I'm kind of at a loss as to what to say at all.

I love the face, and I really love the texture, open symbolism is really fun.

Just to frame it, you might try a little bit of a shadow, or the shadow of a few fractures, a few inches behind him, just to hold everything together as it were.

Cool, neat, facinating, you name it

Well, Aqualung must be very inspiring,
cause this is a great deviation, I'm impressed.
I love the smooth texture of the piece,
what did you use to get those watery textures?
I also love the cracked texture of your skin,
it seems to resemble the feeling after your breakup.
The eyes are the most intense part of this peice
and they are my favorite because of that.
Good job.

such an original style! loving the contrasts, and the 'chipped-rock' effect.

Well, cracks on a face should always look cool so they should be thought over. What have you been thinking when youΒ΄ve done this? Is your face like rock that crackΒ΄s or soft skin that cracks? From looking those shadings iΒ΄d say theyΒ΄re trying to be a bit both and it doesnΒ΄t really work well. I need an answer to make a better oppinion.

i was going for a matt kind of rock finish. i really couldnt get the texture down, but it was a 3 in the morning drawing. i was thinking about how i am a grave, serious person. how that is show by the rock. and that i am just cracking from so much pressure.

Well i just had a second look at your picture and i think the ear youΒ΄ve drawn is exactly how the whole face should propably look. Now the face looks a bit too like a chessboard or something patterned, those dark parts at the face should be much lighter to make it look like rock.

Check the ear a second time, thatΒ΄s how your face should be look-like to be cracking rock.

I love how inticate and simple this drawing is. It's very eye-catching. The only thing I would've added is pieces falling off. Other than that, I think you captured it perfectly.
