Description
I had to install a fan in this costume to get me some oxygen X3 So what you're seeing here is a view from the inside of the head. The purple you see are bedsheets. So as you can see, my vision was through those pupils.I installed a CPU fan to the inside of the head, drawing oxygen through the thin flannel fabric used to cover the inside of the mouth and blowing it straight into my face. To give you an idea of how my head fit in there... my nose was almost touching the fan
The fan kept the head well ventilated, and it helped that I didnt sew the eyeballs entirely around the face, leaving some air at the bottom corner for the CO2 to exit. Without that ventilation hole, the eyes would have fogged up from the inside. CPU fans are easy to install, relatively cheap, and very much worth your money. They come in several sizes, usually very small, and you can buy it at any Radio Shack, Comp USA or any place like that.
Step1- Foam
Step2- Batting
Step3- Eyes
Step4- Furring the Head
Step5- Hands
Step6- Installing the Fan

They can be made for under $50 per head, depending on where you get your fur and supplies. I got all my fur from local fabric stores, and used plastic mesh for the base, the cheapest method. So for a head around $50-$75 depending. I've seen people make them around $100 or so, but because they buy their fur online at full price.

Thanks! There was totally no space lol XDDD But since I hollowed out the snout, essentially, there was enough room to at least place the fan and battery pack

Nope; I just started with plastic mesh and built the snout hollow so the fan could be placed in it n.n

It's actually better to have some means of ventilation besides around the eyes (ex. nostrils) for the air to go out. It's better to have the fan blowing the hot air out of the mask through the nostrils than blowing air into your face. I tried it both ways with my fursuit heads and I find that putting holes in the nostrils of the nose, through the foam and mesh, and having the fan blow the hot air out that way, it cooled me off a lot more than when the fan just blew in my face.

Ja, so I've heard. I prefer the other way around, mostly because the necks of my costume are usually open-ended, so the air blows out and down through the neck. In my case, I have no real ventilation holes for the air to blow out of; most of my suits aren't real animals, so they dont have nostirls. This is my first original character I've done; I do mostly cosplay. X3 but it is a thing to consider! Thank you for the tip! Always much appreciated! I enjoy feedback from other fursuiters!
