When Oriand was born into the demon world she misunderstood her purpose as a demon of her type. (Bat controlling demons control bats to harvest souls of the dead) As she was recruited she wasn't told how to harvest souls, and she was to shy to ask.
As she had collected no souls that day she was banished to serve a life on the "Human World" where she had to get close to a human and bring them back to the "Demon World". But as Her personality suggests she got to close to the human she was supposed to bring back. This human wasn't a pureblood human so she tried bringing her to the demon world but was rejected since she wasn't pure blood.
