this picture has been giving me trouble for ages but it's finally done!my idea for how striders walk on lava and why they get so cold off of the lava is that they have some biological way to cool themselves down to the point where their steps make temporary platforms of cooled lava. their legs are coated with stone from splashes and embers clinging and cooling on them.
