Had this idea for a while now, so I wanted to get it done before I got too stuck into my studies.The idea for this came from "Loonatics on Ice" - despite the silly 'robot viking' villains, the idea that they came from another dimension seemed quite interesting - particularly if it was dominated by snow and frigid weather, it would be tough for the Loonatics to get stranded there - surrounded by snow and hostile entities all round. Plus I get another chance to try some custom uniforms.
All that and it's winter here, so that's some extra motivation.

I sense several layers of depth in this picture. Ace and Lexi scouting the distant building, Tech and Rev preparing the latest gadget, Danger miserable and complaining, and Slam just. . .well, being hungry? Well, I see a lot more going on than that; my thinking is profound!

I think Danger is like 'I don't know what is worse: standing cold in the snow or listening to that bird talking all day?!?' I think the way Rev talks is very funny but very annoying at the same time!

Somehow reminds me of how I need to get back to work on "New Genesis", because before I think about some new projects I want to do, I gotta finally work on the old ones I've always wanted to start. (Reminds me because once I get off my ass with this, L-NG needs something to replace that story-wise. Still want something revolved around freezing, but no techno-vikings.

Well, I have a few ideas, though they may be a bit cliche.

One's for an overarching story arch or reoccuring situation which could tie into your need for ice villains, though it may be a tad cliche: you know the 'Jade Serpent' crystal that Dr. Dare used to control stone and earth - why not have multiple crystals for multiple aspects of nature - ice, earth, fire, etc. Then have a bigger villain or power emerge down the track if they're all collected.
Another idea could be aliens who, coming from an ice-planet, are wanting to adapt Acmetropolis to their needs rather than simple conquest, though that isn't much too different from the original villains in that case.
One final idea ties in with that discussion we had a while back about Acmetropolis' atmosphere and the supposed mechanics in place to try and regulate it after the meteor. Someone could supercharge and reverse the machines, or use some other method to blot out the sky, sorta like in the Matrix's real world - if you want a slightly more gradual approach to the freeze.

Bleh, yeah, there's a lot of ways to do it. If the arc is a direct ramification of the asteroid impact, I.E. Atmospheric debris overwhelming the rest of the planet's air recycling system, causing a massive shutdown. And with this blacking out the sun essentially, we've got a great temp. reducer. In the NG remake, the impact itself will have destroyed roughly 30% of the surface of the planet, plenty of room for debris.

Also, I have an idea that you may be interested in, with your interest in urban architecture and structure. This would be, creating multiple districts of Acmetropolis. No city, and especially no world only has one face. There's slums, hyper-modernized districts (more than the others.), Districts that are greatly influenced by the arts and grow around that. Not to mention other cultural centers.

That would be a good idea. I already have some ideas for some areas from that story I keep trying to work on. Mainly just heavy industrial districts, abandoned mining areas and the large train station that briefly appears on the show. I'd go on, but I may have already said too much.
I would like to chat sometime too. I've download Skype and i'll install it a bit later. I can't guarantee i'll be able to talk much during this uni session, but if it happens it happens.

If you're interested, the snow was done by using a pavement texture (from rubbing pastels on paper) that I had left over for some time now. If I stuck to a regular brush it probably wouldn't have looked as nice.
