I have to say something about this piece. It's not that it's great, I have to say that I imagined this piece about 5-6 years ago when I was reading the novel by Robin Cook called Abduction. It's a story about a group of sub-mariners discovering a huge advanced civilization under the sea.
I had imagined their city to be EXACTLY like this. I find it unnerving how well you have painted. Even down to the point where the east and west are separated by a small river/lake in the middle. Even the color of the sky was how I imagined it when I read it, heck even those floaty things I had imagined as well!
You've gotten the colour EXACTLY like I imagined while reading the book. While, plain and advanced looking.
I find this incredibly weird and unnerving looking at this piece as if someone took my imagination and stuck it on a piece of paper for me. Every time I look at it, it hits a spot in my memory. It's exactly like I imagined! For instance, the building on the right is the memory building where they went to wipe their memories and get restarted in their new bodies.
This is getting weirder and weirder the more I stare at this painting. I better stop.
Great job btw, and thanks for making my day that bit weirder.

Paris? (what with the glass piramid and the rectangular arc)
Looks nice, but just a bit too clean if you ask me. That on purpose? (I know roughing things up is a pain).

I think it is very close to what the city of the future may look like. For instance, the pool area, the chrome look and the cars are very much like the future!

so, my guess this is based off of La de Defense' in Paris, France right. Tell me if i'm wrong but the big rectangle hypercube thing is the La Grande arche de la defense' only much taller. and those two clear-blue tarp things to the the left and right represent the big white tarp in the center of it. If you want to see for yourself I have a picture link with a photo of the La Grande archw:

Yes, it's clearly based on La Defence, it was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw it, but it looks REALLLY COOL Could've been good with a few trees here and there, but what the hell

thats not too bad considering the (apparent) scale and level of detail. ive seen people spend 2.5million on a gun model

Oh, thats much. Maybe too much
The render-process allready took a few hours at this scene, so I'm glad, I kept the poly count low
