Taiwan was affected by Typhoon Soudelor throughout August 7 to August 9 in 2015, resulting in fallen trees, power failure, crop devastation, and worst, landslides that contaminated the water source of Taipei City for a couple of days.

However, one unique effect was that two mailboxes in Taipei City were bent due to being struck by a billboard that was blown off by Soudelor's winds. Their unique appearance intrigued many people's interest, resulting in flocks of them pouring every day to take photos with them. Because of their popularity, Chunghwa Post Co., Ltd, which owned the mailboxes, chose to leave them as they were.
