It looks really good, but Skaal from Youtube would deem it ridiculously impossible to handle and an impossible weapon unless you'd cut it in half.

Hi, I don't suppose it would be possible to use this in a manipulation, if not, I totally understand and thank you for your time xxx

So amazing ^^ would it matter to you if I built it? As a prop that is- I could even send you the finished one if you would like.

Question: Would you have in your collection of pictures a sword with a blade on each end, like the double-bladed lightsaber, but...a sword?

this is a pretty sweet blade! I love the handle on it, does that semi-circular part double as a blade as well?

Hy. The graphic is great but I have usability notes. Not an offence. I start with the worst:

1: The wrist, the arm and the angle of the blade not only should be paralell, but make a straight line, that is what focuses the strength you use. The guard of the hilt does not let you hold the item properly.

2: The crossbar should also be able to lean your hand so your hand not slides forward on the hilt but be stable. No matter the shape of the hilt, with your sword, I'd cut my hand.

3: You cannot slash with this item. Not properly. Slashing itens should have weight. This is not a problem, but a thrusting sword, a rapier needs a pointy edge since it has to find the weak spot of a plate armor, so it is to strike a small spot. Doubling the blade does not help.

Hi, thank you so much for your advices! And sorry it took me times to answer, I have stopped using deviantart during some months.
This was a trial for a sword and it was essentially for graphical test, and it's my fault because I didn't think about how it will be used in real life. I want to train about weapon design, and next time I'll make other swords but without forgetting to make a practical item to use, not only for graphical design. (sorry for my poor English, I hope you understood)

It would probably work as a parry dagger. BTW are you implying the rapier can pierce armor? Because it can't.

When aiming the right joints, the right spot at the right time (like under the shoulder), you can hit unprotected parts.

Not with a rapier. I think you mean to say weaker parts. they were still protected by padding and mail a lot of the time.

Not sure how practical of a weapon would be, but it sure as hell LOOKS cool, and that's half the battle.

Thank you! Next time I draw a sword, I will think both for practical design and artistic design for sure.

Pretty cool look- but you can't line your hand up to get a full edge-on cut. The lower blades will make that impossible, as I've made weapons in real life for many years- most real, some prop. I've made similar styles for the "anime" look, and none could be used to cut effectively. Outside of that the look is very interesting, and it is very well-rendered.

Hi, thank you for the interesting advices! Yes, I figured that later too, this shape is really hard to use in real life. Maybe I can make another version with movable parts, as the user can put the hand properly.

Thank you, and yes many people gave me advices for the shape. In real life, this weapon is really hard to use ^^
