Say hi to Mega Rapidash!
Well this is my version. I've wanted a Rapidash evolution since Gen II!Obvs a winged horse / pegasus was what initially came to mind but then I thought... Predictable.
So my Mega Rapidash has "wings", actually more like flame protrusions from the chest.
It doesn't really grant it flight though, but it seemingly does because of its speedy and graceful galloping.
The horn is now a really pointy square-based pyramid form instead of cylindrical;
and there is a blue crystal on the chest and on top of each hoof.
They serve as added sources of power for the flames Mega Rapidash emits.
It is given Fire / Fairy typing to go along with the upcoming Pokemon X/Y release.
Wouldn't it be nice to see this majestic creature rival the great Dragons?
And I gave it Magic Bounce as its ability because unicorns / winged horses are magical to begin with,
and because it prances / gallops / bounces a lot. Lol

10% chance to make the foe flinch. 33% chance to raise user's Attack by 1 stage

PS I was also thinking of giving it an exclusive Fire-type version of Quick Attack or Extremespeed
(maybe give it 60BP / 10PP?) so it could kill off Scizor.

This is by far my favorite Rapidash mega. I'm so happy that someone agrees M-Rapidash should be Fire/Fairy type. Magic Bounce would also do wonders for it, making it immune to those pesky entry hazards. Really good job : ) !

Love thisβ¦ i thought about something similar as well for my Fan made Mega-Rapidash. Fire/Fairy seems like a better idea in my opinion as well.Β

Mind if I make a few small edits now that Pokemon X and Y are out?
The standard Base Stat addition for Mega Evolution is 100, while this version of Mega Rapidash, only has an addition 48 points. (30 in Attack, 18 in Speed) So, let's give it some new stats.
HP:65
Attack: 140 (+40)
Defense: 80 (+10)
Special Attack: 80
Special Defense: 80Β
Speed: 155 (+50)
Additionally, while the idea for the Radiant Charge move is cool, it's sadly not in the game. I can improvise though and give it the Pixilate ability, which transforms all Normal-type moves into Fairy-type moves, which will make moves such as Quick Attack and Double-Edge hit much harder than before.

Wow! This looks amazing! The colors for Mega Rapidash makes it look very unique. Personally, I think you did a great job, especially since you used traditional media for this! ^^

This is really nice and I love that the fire coming from the crystals look like wings. Really a great design. I've seen quite a few rapidash evolutions that take wings and it's just too literal and cluttered. This is balanced and very much awesome.

Thank you! It still sort of looks like wings, but not literally "fiery wings." I figured Rapidash gallops a lot that it seems like "flying" anyway

Omg thanks! My thoughts exactly! Adding actual wings would've made it a typical pegasus interpretation. Plus that would change its typing to Fire / Flying instead and Stealth Rock would just ruin it (hypothetically). Again thanks for your comment!
