Image of my Sailor Cosmos interpretation worn at CONvergence 2011.My goal was to create a 3D Sailor Cosmos in a similar style of SeraMyu or PGSM. It started with my friend's suggestion of making silk Sailor Fuku. All of the fabric in the costume is silk custom whitened by me.
There is also a lot of custom embroidery on this piece. Each feather was embroidered out of silk, and the cape has a feather and moon design across all of the seams.
I even had to paint the shoes because their base was black, and it needed to be white.
This costume won Best Workmanship in the CONvergence Masquerade.

would I be able to ask where you got the colored plastic shards? I've been looking online for days and still no luck! Your cosplay is so wonderful, the shards are such a nice touch!

Thank you very much. Finding the correct shards was pretty difficult when I was making the costume so I can understand where you're coming from.
They're not actually colored shards. They're clear plastic drops that I colored yellow with a copic marker. I think I ended up going with Darice Shards/Drops (I forget exactly what they were called) from my local craft store. Some hot glue got them in the correct shape and from there I could color them yellow. There are about 8-10 shards per starburst.

Oh my gosh, this is stunning!! I really wish now I had worked harder on my Cosmos cosplay and made it more interpretative. I wanted to airbrush a galaxy scene on the cape but never did it. Now I'm encouraged to try it again!

Im cosplaying sailor cosmos in may, but im having an AWFUL time trying to find stars/crystals that look right for the Tiara, Brooch, belt and Staff... where did you get yours?
My shoes base are neon pink

I found my crystals at a local craft store. They were just standard Darice brand drops. They were clear when I bought them but were easily colored with a copic marker.
White shoes are anything but easy to find. The base of mine were black, but that's what paint is for!

good god woman i didn't realize how much extra embroidery you put into it. I'm gonna have to step it up with my silk Eternal Sailor Venus. We soo need to power work on those after halloween...
