Description
...Well, him and my sister ~Couy-Chan 's original character, Seeiss. The comic reads from top to bottom, left to right, by the way.
I drew the names of the characters and the setting "in a walk-in freezer" out of a "hat" (*cough*tincan*cough*) and decided a comic rather than a single picture could better explain the idea I got from that combination.
Some explanations:
Seeiss is deathly pale, silent and cold, like a corpse. He doesn't have any vital signs according to medical monitoring equipment. Last but not least, his head is extremely heavy, so he usually lets it hang to one side of the other because he gets tired of holding it up.
Cold doesn't bother Seeiss; he's probably sitting in the walk-in freezer because its nice and quiet in there.
I included the doodles in the margins for my own amusement. XD; This comic was drawn with a finepoint gel pen. I apologize if my sloppy handwriting is hard to read.
Light Yagami is from the anime/manga Death Note, and belongs to Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata.
Seeiss is (c) to my sister, ~Couy-Chan -- please do not use him for anything without her permission. Thank you.

XD Hehe; thanks, my sister has some pretty unique OCs.

Great comic! Seeiss sounds like a cool OC, tell your sister I enjoyed him a great deal. Light looks like Near in panel four...odd. I love the expression at the end. Yes, I'm not entirely fond of Light either (though he tends to play off L really well), I did love him during the whole lost memory phase, before he became Kira again. He fits so well as an anti-hero (or full blown antagonist) that I can't help but incorporate him in my work most of the time...but at least he seems to be a hit among the SoL fanbase.
Great picture, and I hope to see more in the future!

Light probably looks like Near in that panel because of the shirt he's wearing.
Seeiss is a very interesting character, indeed...I'll pass on your comments to Couy!
I think you did Light's complexity justice in SoL; he is a blend of good and bad, pure ideals and impure executions of them, and just and unjust actions.

Yeah Light's a real mixed character, probably why I enjoy him so much. You can be hating him one moment, and cheering him on in the next, and I hope to keep that quality throughout the series...though it's going to become more difficult as the story progresses, I'm afraid...

Ack, ZOMBIE!!! *thwacks Seeis* Does he have narcolepsy or something? XD It's ironic that you posted a comic about a walk in freezer, since I nearly got locked in one last night! O_O

Threshie In reply to MsMojorisin [2009-03-09 23:52:28 +0000 UTC]
Aww, poor Seeiss--he's not a zombie! LOL; he doesn't have narcolepsy, either--he's been "altered" scientifically and is actually a failed (and rather glum) science experiment. He was carefully not moving since he didn't see any reason to, until Light said he was looking for the ice-cream...after which Seeiss kindly pointed him in the right direction.
Eep, getting locked into one does NOT sound fun! Oo; How did you almost get locked in one, anyway?

We have two huge walk in freezers and a fridge at my work. My friend Tony thought it would be a great idea to turn off the lights and hold the door shut while I pounded on the door screaming. But then he finally opened the door and I just stood there menacingly with the knife we keep in there to cut open boxes. XD I love my job. ^_^

Oo; Oh, my....I'm sorry, but if a friend of MINE tried that, their plan would only backfire when I turned out to actually know how to OPEN the walk-in freezer from the inside. (Ah, Worst-case Scenario Survival Handbooks, how I love thee

Omg, they actually tell you how to do that in there? I need one of those books, the only one I have is the zombie survival guide. XD A lot of good that'll do me in a freezer. Yeah, but he was holding the door shut, it didn't lock. He's just stronger than me, cause he's a stupid meathead football player.

Threshie In reply to MsMojorisin [2009-03-10 13:33:45 +0000 UTC]
Yep, they tell you that in there. Along with how to jump off a building into a dumpster, how to dodge gunfire while running (hint: zigzag), how to wrestle an alligator, how to roll down a staircase (with minimal damage), and what to do if your parachute fails to open. They ask professionals in each field what to do, so it's real info, but it's presented in a great funny deadpan way with often-hilarious illustrations for each one.
My characters Graham and Denley read tutorials from the first book in my comics "WORST-CASE 01", "WORST-CASE 02" and "WORST-CASE 03".

I have a tendency to do stupid life threatening shit, so I should probably go out and get those books. Knowing my luck I'll probably need to know how to outrun a bear or survive a nuclear blast. XD

They have both of those in there as well. Go, get yourself a copy of the complete version; it's got the favorite tutorials in a 500+ page book, then has the entire series of books searchable and included on a CD, too.

Haha that's ok. At least you admit you might be slightly biased towards your favorites. I'm sure though you'll draw him again...which will show that although you have your favorites, you aren't so opposed to drawing other characters!

I might hate a character...actually, I'd use 'dislike' because it's rather hard for me to say I truly 'hate' any character I've ever come in contact with.
(getting technical at 12am...
) But they'll still go in my fanfiction because they are so dynamic and interesting.

LOL; yep, a character doesn't necessarily have to be a good person or to do things that you condone doing for you to want to write about them! I'd imagine that's how it is for the people who write about BB.

RuneQuicksilver In reply to Threshie [2009-03-09 18:04:49 +0000 UTC]
Well, and he's a really interesting person to write about. It's like writing in the villans for your stories. You want them to be convincingly bad (in what ever ways they are supposed to be bad or evil) but that doesn't mean you agree with their actions.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Threshie In reply to RuneQuicksilver [2009-03-10 00:04:04 +0000 UTC]
Precisely! To really write convincing villains, you need to look at the happenings of the story from their point of view so that you know what motivates them. I doubt many villains go "I'm doing this because I'm the bad guy and I'm evil." They probably think they're in the right.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
RuneQuicksilver In reply to Threshie [2009-03-18 03:57:55 +0000 UTC]
Actually, there are some villians that say "I'm the bad guy and I'm evil" because they just don't care about good. I'm not coming up with an example off the top of my head because this situation is not the norm. It has happened though, but I think it's much more difficult to write in this voice than it is to choose a side and decide what is right and what is wrong.

He tends to sit or lie down places for hours, and slumps a lot because his head is very heavy (It has metal in it. >>; Long story). He reads extremely fast...and he used to play soccer professionally before his head was heavy. Kind of like L used to play tennis before he became a legendary detective, ne?

I'm not going to ask why, but I could imagine having metal in your scull would be very irritating. Although it must kill his neck when he has to lift it up, or even crane it to the side, for that matter!
