Description
***Spoiler Alert***“…One more thing; the government has changed your name to Ginormica.” –General W.R. Monger
Obviously this is the scene at area fifty… (dart hits his neck and one hour passes before Tide wakes again). Where was I? Oh yeah! This is when Susan gets locked up and is pretty sad. It really hits me when I see this scene, so I wanted to draw it. Most of this scene has been re-created by memory, so it may be off a lot. Also, I condensed the scene to include the general, but also keep the perspective (which I still suck at). This scene reminds me of my life right now, but it’s hopeful too, since she does ‘hang in there’ and becomes so much more than she could imagine at this point in the movie. Also, I’m crazy about her hair (I’m weird that way), and this is the only time her hair falls like this.
Critically speaking, I still suck with perspective, my pens and markers suck, and I suck at hands still. I used only 2 references; first a reference for Susan’s first uniform, and then another to get the General’s uniform right. All told, this took about 5 hours. I really like how this ended up, and am happy with my work here. Susan is really hard to pose (as seen in ‘Monsters vs. Aliens 2’
“Don’t think of this as a prison, darlin’. Think of this as a hotel that you can’t leave because the doors are locked from the outside!” –
“I don’t want a poster of a cat, I want a real cat, hanging from a real tree!” –

Wow, this is really well done. There's more fanart of MvA than I expected O:
I really like the poses and the jet pack-- you must have a good memory, because alot of this is dead on, I think. xD;

I've seen the movie three times, which helped. After I drew this, I checked for movie stills; couldn't find any of this scene. I'm sure I got some of the details wrong, but it's good enough, aparently.

XD; Oh, nice. I've seen it a few times myself. (The second time I saw it, the film actually melted. That sucked. So much.)

Melted? Did you see it in 3D? I thought most of the projectors were digital now.

No, I didn't see it in 3-D sadly. I went to the theater in town-- small town with older equipment. Aparently there aren't all digital, cause it melted before our eyes D:

Nice work, I must say, it's really one of the most touching sequences of the movie. I admit, I laughed when Susan said "I don't want a poster", but it was a sad part.

This pretty nice work!
Yeah, that part was one of the more poignant in the movie, and I like how you captured that.
Simply put, 'twas a brilliant, and hilarious movie. And call me crazy, but I've developed a crush on Ginormica, for a cartoon lady she's stunningly beautiful.
Great work!

You did a good job illustrating that lonely feeling.

“I don’t want a poster of a cat, I want a real cat, hanging from a real tree!”
That line for whatever reason hits me.
I really like this pic. I especially love Susan *of course* ^_^

Yep! It's funny cause she wants to have a danglin' kitty (ga-faw)!
That was one of those subtile jokes that the kiddies normally don't get but makes the adults who were dragged to the movie laugh. Those are the jokes I like best.

Oh...wait...it was a joke? When I said it hits me, I meant it made me kinda feel sorry for her. All she wanted was to live a normal life. More so, it seemed that the audience laughed at the picture than Susan's words.
