Description
One of Energetic Enforcement's flagship products and a shining example of modern day infantry laser weapons, the EE-3 Autoblaster is an advanced select fire 12mm Free Electron Laser rifle used by R-FORCE units that require high accuracy and long engagement distance above all else. Powered by a miniature fusion reactor located below the weapon just in front of the trigger group, the Autoblaster does not require the operator to carry significant amounts of extra ammunition to keep their weapon combat effective, making it an excellent choice for expeditionary units. Designed to be highly compatible with R-FORCE IPS-1 Cobalt powersuit, the weapon can interface with the suit's sensor systems to lock onto and track enemy targets with the aid of a redirection lens system. Despite possible concerns of the weapon being "finicky" due to its complexity, this is not the case with the Autoblaster. The weapon features multiple redundant systems onboard to ensure combat ability even in the event of notable damage, which is further supplemented by a nanotech canister port in the weapon's stock to allow repair nanotech to fix the weapon in the field. Although most modern combat armor systems are somewhat durable to laser weaponry, the Autoblaster's target tracking ability helps alleviate this issue. Unfortunately, as is the bane of all energy weapons, heat management is a significant issue, with the Autoblaster needing to cool itself down every 85 blasts or so. Cooling the weapon down involves the weapon automatically opening a hinged portion at the top to expose the radiator elements, then closing itself once the weapon's temperature lowers down to optimal levels. The Autoblaster is capable of either full-automatic or semi-automatic fire. While underbarrel attachments can be used, underbarrel weapons require the user to switch to the underbarrel mode which retracts the redirection lens into the weapon before proceeding.A Vector Art remake of my earlier Autoblaster. Hong Ooi 's SF58 gauss rifle was a heavy inspiration on the remake version of it.
