To quote the instruction booklet, "He thinks he is a girl and he spits eggs from his mouth." But it wasn't just a thought at all, it was the truth. And now finally, the rest of us know it, too. You're female.

Ridley, of the "Metroid" games
You've always been female in my mind, just as the other bosses are female. But I know that as recently as "Smash Brothers Melee" you were identified as male, and I know there have been internet debates about your sex. But please know that no matter what we call you, you'll always be the bad-ass dragon we love. No matter how many times we kill you, keep coming back for the next game.

Silphymon, of "Digimon Adventure 02"
You're a perfect blend of the female Gatomon and the male Aquilamon. I have never known what pronoun to use for you, but I do know that it doesn't matter to your coolness or the power of your Static Force attack. You're easily one of my favorite Digimon.

Renamon, of "Digimon Tamers"
I'll admit that when I met you I wasn't 100% sure. But I knew right away that you were my favorite. Your poise and grace and your strength in the battlefield--even against champions--are what won me over, not your sex. Eventually she asked the embarrassing question "you're a girl, right?" I wanted you here mostly for your answer: while you could be considered female, Digimon don't really have sexes like that.

Goldeen and Seaking, of the "Pokemon" games
It's a small detail that got lost when Gold and Silver added sexes to Pokemon. Goldeen, queen of the sea, you're female; and Seaking, you're male. Because like so many of the fish in my world, your sex can change during the course of your life. It's a part of nature. Sex is irresolute.

Mewtwo, of the "Pokemon" games
You've got quite a reputation as one of the toughest and coolest of the pokemon. You're legendary. And like most of the other legendary pokemon as well as some of the common ones, you're gender neutral.

You, of the internet
I can't tell what your gender is, and that has no impact on the quality of your work, or the content of your character. You might be male, you might be female. You might be thirdsex like Silphymon, neutrois like Mewtwo, intersex, or go back and forth fluidly like Override. You may find that the sex you're born with isn't who you are, like Birdo, and that changing it will be a part of your life like Goldeen evolving into Seaking. You know that gender takes on many more forms than just male and female; you are part of a beautifully diverse spectrum of possibilities. You should be able to take pride in that.
