I bet this is one of the anime that not many ppl will know of...in jap it's called "Chuuka Ichiban" and it's about this 13-year old boy named Mao who wants to become a talented yet the youngest cook in China. The whole anime is only 57 episode long and it was first aired in japan in 1998. It's an old anime but the story about the cooking is very interesting...^____^ This anime was actually aired currently on Fairchild TV..err. its a Chinese channel and this anime was aired as a chinese dub.
Anyways, many ppl might not be interest in this anime cuz it's main focus is Chinese Cooking...but I really enjoy watching it.
Well, I hope there's ppl out there who like this picture of our talented chief Mao!!! ^_____^

in my opinion mao looks like a 10 year old kid at first when i saw him in episode one but after he won the super chef contest, he looks older like 14 to 16 years old

When I was young, I always wanted to watch this anime, but I could never figure out when the damn thing ever aired on TV.

My sister and I always imitated this show whenever we cook, get a flashlight and turn it on when we open the pot, pretend to be floating in space or flying with fairies with just one bite of the food hahahaha
Gotta love the exaggerated glows and reactions of the people who eat his food. I don't think Mao himself ever ate his own food though!

oh! did you know that there was an actual real life drama show that was based on this anime? unfortunately maybe it's in chinese, so not many ppl know about it. ^_^" however, i was lucky to have found it in a chinese media store one day~ <33 it was quite interesting than the original cuz there's more romance between mao and mei li and most of storyline remained the same but with several new twists.
wow..now talking about it makes me want to rewatch the whole show again. lol.

I think this anime was very cool! ^-^ but they did over-exaggerated some of the cooking a bit na~~ lol I really like the relationship between Mao and that girl (forgot her name...XD) in the show, it's very cute. ^^ and Fei was so hot too~~
