Sculpey, oil paint, resin, water, and a glass jar.So I finally finished my pickled punk. I always wanted a pickled punk so I just made one for myself. It's been creeping people out all week so i am quite proud of it.

I've been wanting to make something like this for a long time now, and I feel you'd be the person to ask:
So, after I make my figure and put it in the jar, is it resin that it's filled with? I've seen other jars and people are never clear on what they use inside

You can do a couple of things. You could coat the sculpt in marine epoxy and put it into water. That's what I did here. Or you could put a little bit of resin in the bottom of the jar, let it cure, put the sculpt in and fill the rest with more resin. If you go that route you just need to watch out for air bubbles. Just depends on what you want. I wanted mine to kind of move around in the jar.

You'd expect to see this kind of thing in some old museum or even better on some curator's shelf at home. Very well done.. maybe a sea slug or yes something prehistoric that's.. survived until now. Nice work.

Instead, I have locked a pair of cousins in a room, forced them to breed, and prayed that they would give birth to some sort of stillborn freak. No luck yet....but there's still hope.
